Meet Mallie...
Mallie is an inquisitive, outgoing, ten year old, fourth grader. She loves reading, writing, playing with her friends and brother, American Girl Dolls, violin, f lute, swim team and CCD. In her free time, Mallie writes creative stories, reads Harry Potter & Percy Jackson books, listens to music, and plays teacher all day long!
Mallie never lets OI slow her down. She enjoys baseball, basketball, tennis, swimming and her new favorite sport... playing golf! Even when casted, Mallie is up and rolling in her wheelchair. You have to watch your toes and shins as she zips around the house.
She is a social butterfly... just like her mom. Everyone knows Mallie at school and at her hospital. She's actually quite the celebrity at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. Doctors and nurses alike make sure they stop in to say "hi" to Mallie every time she's there.
OI doesn't define Mallie, it's just something she has. Her spirit remains unbreakable and an inspiration to everyone she meets. Her smile will brighten your day.
